About Input Datasets

The Statistics Extractor point cloud task allows you to define the input geometries and LAS layers that will be used to gather summary information. The source filter is defined using the Display Filter Property Pages.  

How to Define the Input Datasets

1. On the Point Cloud Statistics Extractor property page, click the '...' button to define an input Geometry. This could be a Tool Geometry (drawn polygon), a shapefile, or a File.    
   
   

2. Click 'Close' to accept the selection.

3. On the Point Cloud Statistics Extractor property page, click the '...' button again to define the Input LAS Layer. Usually, this will be the Active LAS Layer, so that is the default selection. However, the user may choose to pick another LAS Layer added to the project to compute statistics.

4. If applicable, click 'Close' to accept your selection.

5. The 'Source Points' button defines the point classes that must pass the filter to have their statistics computed on the geometry.
