On the properties page for a Point Cloud Task and other tools within LP360, selecting the Input LAS Layer defines the LAS point cloud data to be used during the process. This field displays the selected LAS Layer. When [Active LAS Layer] is displayed, the Rail Extraction will be performed on the Layer defined as the Active LIDAR Layer. You may specify another Layer by selecting the Browse button and selecting the Layer you would like to use in the available cell in the I/O Manager. The Input Points Filter opens the Live View to allow filtering of which points to use from the input LAS Layer.
How to Define the Input LAS Layer/Data Set
Open Dataset Command
- Define a Point Cloud Task or open a tool with this property.
- Within the properties window, next to 'Input LAS Layer', press the browse button '...' ellipses to open the I/O Manager dialog with the Input LAS Layer property for the tool enabled for edit.
- In the I/O Manager, specify the LAS Layer by selecting the dropdown arrow and select one of the Layers available in the list. Only the LAS Layers currently open in LP360 are available, so if you want to use a Layer other than one listed, you must first open it using Create LIDAR Layer. To use the Active LIDAR Layer, select the [Active LAS Layer] option. When available, the Input Points Filter, formerly 'Source Points', button defines the point classes that must pass the filter to be used in the process.
- Complete the setup of the Point Cloud Task properties and select Apply to save.
