About Layers
Layers in LP360 are visual representations of the data in files selected to be opened. These representations are called layers because they can be stacked on one another and viewed simultaneously in the map. The current data types that can be opened as layers in LP360 for Windows are LAS files (containing LIDAR data), SHP files (shapefiles), and raster files. Many other data types can be opened in ArcGIS and viewed simultaneously with LIDAR data in LP360.
Data display is controlled using the TOC. Layers can be selected to be visible or not visible, and properties for displaying the data for each data type can be customized using Properties dialogs, specific to each data type. The TOC also allows you to load and unload files, or
