Scaling LAS Files
About Scaling
The Scale Tool offers you the capability to scale the x, y, and/or z components of the points within a LAS file. Scaling the points within a LAS file multiplies each point component (i.e., x, y, or z) by a specified factor. Multiplying the points may be useful for converting vertical units (i.e., z) from one unit to another. For example to convert the z value from Meters to Feet use a factor of 3.281 for the z component. A factor of 1 has no effect on the specified point component.Common Conversion Factors: (Suggested Factors)
Feet to Meters: 0.3048
Meters to Feet: 3.281
