Using LP360 in ArcCatalog™
The LAS file has been integrated into the ArcGIS™ environment and can be recognized by ArcGIS software such as the file dialogs and ArcCatalog. A LAS file can be used in similar ways as shapefiles in ArcCatalog, such as previewing the contents of the file as if ArcMap™ was being used. While previewing LAS files, you may use built-in ArcCatalog tools such as zoom in and out, pan and the Identify tool.
An LAS file as well as LIDAR Layer files have icons that provide an easy way to identify the files as part of the LP360 software. The following icons are used for the files and their different states:
