Extending the Rail Point Search Beyond the Seed Line
About Extending the Rail Point Search Beyond the Seed Line
When the option to Extend until Lost is selected, processing will be allowed to continue searching for rail points beyond the end points of each seed line. Leaving this option unselected limits processing to rails that are found only between the start and end points of each input seed line. When you are extending the rail point search beyond the seed line, processing will terminate when the rail extraction algorithm is no longer able to find rail points. A minimum of two seed points are accepted and the maximum is n number of seed points. The first two points define the seed line. This line must be between the rails and the point in the direction of the extraction. If more than two points are entered, all points from point 3 to the point preceding the end point are ignored.
The end point defines where the extraction terminates if you are not extending the rail point search beyond the seed line.
How To Extend the Rail Point Search Beyond the Seed Line
- Define a Rail Extractor Point Cloud Task as described in the Rail Extractor topic.
- Click the Extend until Lost checkbox
under 'Options' to have processing continue beyond the specified seed line.
- Complete the setup of the Rail Extraction task and click Apply.
