Adding a Task to a Macro
About Adding Tasks to a Macro
Tasks can be added or inserted into a Macro. The task you would like to add can be an existing task in the tasks collection or a new task that will only get created within the Macro's task list. When an existing task is added or inserted into the Macro, a copy of the task is made. Any edits made to the task added to the Macro will affect or change the existing task in the tasks collection. An inserted task is added to the Macro's task list before the selected task in the task list. How to Add Tasks to a Macro
- Set up a new macro by following the directions in How to Create a Macro.
- Once your macro is created and is displayed in the Point Cloud Task list, click Add. Select one of the following ways to add a task to the macro:
- Add New Task
- - Adds a new Point Cloud Task in the macro list. This works the same way as setting up any other Point Cloud Task. You can add as many tasks as necessary to the macro list and they will run successively in order once the macro is executed.
- Add Existing Task
- - Adds a task that you have already created or that came as a pre-configured task with LP360. The list that you see under Task Type in the Add Point Cloud Task dialog is the same as the list of existing tabs in the main tab.
- Insert New Task
- - Inserts a new Point Cloud Task in the macro list. Once you insert the Point Cloud Task, you are able to customize the Point Cloud Task parameters the same way as adding a task.
- Insert Existing Task
- - Inserts a customized task that already exists in the Point Cloud task list in the main tab.
Note
The difference between adding and inserting tasks is where the task is placed in the list. When you Add a task, it is automatically inserted at the end of the list. When you Insert a task, it is placed below a selected task. At least one task must be in the list before you can Insert new tasks.
- In the Add Point Cloud Task dialog, select the Task Type and then type a descriptive name in the Task Name field.
- Edit the parameters for the task in the Point Cloud Task window to customize the task you added. See the Help for each Point Cloud Task for more information.
- Click Apply each time you edit the parameters of the selected task in the macro.
- Repeat the steps above to add as many tasks as you need to complete your macro.
