Intensity from RGB Point Cloud Task
*This feature is available in the Standard license level and above for LP360.
Some systems that generate point clouds from imagery populate the Red-Green-Blue (RGB) fields in the LAS file but do not populate the Intensity field. This point cloud task synthetically generates intensity values based on RGB and populates this field in the LAS file. Intensity is useful for operations where RGB is not being displayed, such as during point classification.
How to create Cross Sections
1. Use the Add Files command to open the LAS files that contain the data you want to use.
2. Use the Add Task command to create a new point cloud task. When you are selecting a Task Type in the Add Point Cloud Task dialog, select Intensity from RGB. Once you click OK, you should see the unique name that you gave your task selected in the list and the Intensity from RGB property page displayed on the Point Cloud Task tab.
3. Specify the settings for the Intensity from RGB operation in the Properties page that displays.
Overview of the Intensity from RGB Point Cloud Task Property Page
Source Points Use the points filter to select for which points RGB values are to be computed from.
RGB Percents These percent values are used to compute the intensity for the points selected. The default values are Green 59.0, Red 30.0, and Blue 11.0. If you want to change the weight of any of the values, use the key-in to change the percentages. Remember that the sum of the Green, Red, and Blue values should total 100.
