3D View Property Page
The 3D View Property Page within the 3D Window Properties Dialog is used to control aspects of the 3D view such as the default eye position used when a window is initialized and the field of view (FOV) that is used to define the perspective of the window.
There are 2 independent options that allow the user to zoom more quickly in the 3D View. The user may use either Method 1 or Method 2 (described below).
Zoom Method 1:
Change to allow the user to set the Zoom Rate between 0.05 to 0.25. Basically this allows the users eye position to move with a 5% (original rate) offset to 25% offset along the Z axis. The Z distance offset is simply reduced or increased by the current rate per zoom update.
a. This is the traditional LP360 fixed rate move. But the user is now able to change the rate of the zoom which controls the distance the eye point moves per zoom update. The zoom always moves with the same fixed percentage.
b. The smaller the zoom rate, the smaller the change.
c. The larger the zoom rate, the faster the change.
d. Multiple Mouse Move commands sent by the OS to the window are not accumulated into a single move during update. Each move command is honored and will received a separate update.
e. This command is controlled by the Zoom slider and has a key in text box for precision key-in.
Zoom Method 2:
Automatic Rate Adjustment – This allows the rate to more fluidly change based on the user’s mouse move delta.
a. Move the mouse a small distance, zoom rate is small. As small as 5%.
b. Move the mouse a larger distance, zoom rate is larger. As large as 25%.
c. If multiple Mouse Move commands sent by the OS to the 3D window are received at one time, the messages will be consolidated into a single move update with the mouse delta move also accumulated. If this situation occurs the user will move a longer distance in a single move. This situation may or may not occur, but if it does occur, then the messages will be accumulated into a single bigger move request.
d. This option is turned on or off with the checkbox. It does not use the Zoom Slider setting.
