📌 Problem
I received a "License Request" e-mail from noreply@lp360.com for an LP360 Cloud license to be assigned to a colleague. What does it mean and what is the process?
🧠What the Email Means
The message from noreply@lp360.com indicates that a colleague (as named in the e-mail) has requested access to an LP360 Cloud license—specifically for a feature like Cloud Collaborate, AI Ground Classification, DJI Terra Cloud Batch Processing, etc. This is part of LP360’s license management system where licenses can be assigned to individual users.
🔍How the Process Works
LP360 uses two main licensing models:
- Subscription, including Cloud, Licenses
- Managed through the LP360 Portal (https://portal.lp360.com).
- An account admin (often you or someone designated in your organization) can invite users and assign licenses.
- When a colleague requests a license, all admin users in the organization will receive an email with a link to approve or grant access.
- After approval, the user will NOT receive a notification email but can start using the license.
- Perpetual Desktop Licenses
- Managed via a Perpetual License Manager.
- Requires entering a license string to check out a floating license from the pool.
- Admins can change license levels or re-host node-locked licenses after a minimum duration (usually seven days).
âś…Steps to Complete the Request
- Click the link in the email to grant access. This will take you to the LP360 Portal -> Admin -> Organization.
- Sign in as an admin (using your LP360 Online account).
- Approve the license assignment for the requested product.
- If your organization uses perpetual licenses, ensure the license string is entered in the LP360 License Manager on the user’s machine.
📚 Additional Notes
- If you don’t recognize the request, you can ignore the email—no license will be assigned without your approval.
