Requires an LP360 Drone license.
The Wingtra/Other tab in LP360 is designed to streamline the import and processing of LiDAR datasets from Wingtra drones and other compatible sensors. This tab consolidates tools and workflows specific to non-TrueView payloads, offering a unified interface for users working with third-party systems such as Wingtra, Riegl, YellowScan, RESEPI, Teledyne, and others. Essentially any other lidar sensor that is not specified upon import (LAS and Trajectory files required for import). This tab will automatically appear after importing a Wingtra or Other dataset. It can also be enabled on the Options menu -> Customize Ribbon Menu.

The tab provides access to a tailored set of tools for:
- Importing Raw Missions: Users can import LAS files and trajectory data from Wingtra LiDAR or other supported sensors. The tab guides users through selecting the correct coordinate reference system (CRS) and organizing project folders.
- Flight Line Creation: LP360 supports both automatic and manual flight line generation. Users can adjust parameters like minimum length, turn radius, and maximum deviation to optimize flight line segmentation.
- Post-Processing: The tab includes tools for trajectory file generation, LAS layer creation, and optional steps like strip alignment, classification, and derivative product generation.
- Colorization and Orthomosaic Generation: Users can import geotagged photos to colorize point clouds or generate orthomosaics using LP360’s Ortho Mapping tools.
Sensor Compatibility
The Wingtra/Other tab supports:
- LAS format point clouds
- Trajectory files in SBET (.out), PosT, or ASCII (.txt)
- CRS configurations commonly used in Wingtra workflows (e.g., WGS84 UTM zone XX with ellipsoidal height)

Workflow Highlights
- Import Wizard: Launches the cycle import process, guiding users through file selection and CRS setup.
-
Flight Line Tools:
- Auto Create Flight Lines: Ideal for standard patterns.
- Manual Flight Lines: Useful for complex or irregular flight paths.
- Strip Align: Allows users to adjust misalignments between flight lines using visual tools like Profile View and Surface Precision.
- Colorization: Supports external orthophoto integration for enhanced visualization.
- Other Sensor Support: The tab is not limited to Wingtra; it accommodates a wide range of third-party sensors as long as the data meets LP360’s format requirements.
Best Practices
- Always verify CRS settings before import.
- Use the Surface Precision tool to assess alignment quality.
- For large datasets or complex terrain, consider manual flight line creation.
- When using RGB imagery, ensure geotagging is accurate for effective colorization.
