Ortho Mapping from Images
In the Input Layer Type drop-down, select Images (Photo Layers).
Input Settings
Available TrueView Pose Photo Layers
Select the True Pose Photo Layers to use and define the basic output settings within the main settings window.
The prerequisite it to have a set of images geotagged by LP360 after a trajectory processing and an update of the photo EXIF tags.
NoteThis update can be done either using the dedicated button (last in the True View Workflow toolbar) or directly during the generation of trajectory files in a geocoding workflow. |
Processing Location
Ortho Mapping can only be processed the locally with the computer.
Output Settings
Generate Dense Point Cloud
If this option is selected, Ortho Mapping will perform the Bundle Block Adjustment and the Dense Point Cloud generation but no orthophoto will be created.
Generate Ortho
If this option is selected, Ortho Mapping will generate the Bundle Block Adjustment, the dense point cloud generation and the orthophoto.
Bundle Block Adjustment (BBA) Only
If this option is selected, Ortho Mapping will stop just after the BBA, and the results will only include calibrated EO (and IO optionally). During the post process step, the calibrated EO (and IO optionally) are going to be used to update the EXIF tag of the images.
Output Locations
Output Point Cloud
Activates with appropriate Output Setting selection. This determines if the output Point Cloud will be added to an existing layer or placed on a newly created layer.
Output Ortho
Activates with appropriate Output Settings selection. This determines whether output Ortho will be added to an existing layer, or placed on a newly created lawyer.
Advanced Settings
Used to modify the default settings. Once settings are adjusted, click OK to apply settings or click Reset to set back to default settings.
Alignment Settings
Affects the accuracy of Bundle Block Adjustment results.
Alignment Accuracy
Resolution of the images used during the Tie Points extraction. The higher is the value, the more accurate is the result. Increase this parameters also increases the amount of Tie points generated.
Tie Point Value
The amount of Tie Points generated per image. This is to be changed only if increasing the Alignment Accuracy is not sufficient to obtain a good result.
Point Cloud Settings
Affects the density of the dense point cloud by reducing the resolution of the input images, thus directly affects the quality of the Ortho generated. Increasing the dense points cloud quality will generate a more detailed point cloud and most likely a better ortho; but the processing time is going to be a lot longer.
Precise Value
For an advanced user, it is possible to manually define the Dense Cloud Quality using the resolution factor (1 = original input images resolution used, 2 = resolution of input images divided by 2, etc).
Ortho Settings
Affects the generation of the Orthophoto Compression Method and Factor Ground Sampling Distance (GSD)
Optimal GSD from Images
If this checkbox is selected, Ortho Mapping will automatically compute the optimal GSD based on the Alignment Accuracy selected by the user. Only an advanced and informed user should decide to manually overload the Ortho GSD.
Factor of Input Images GSD
Multiplication factor of input GSD (1 means original image GSD).
Precise GSD (Ground Units)
GSD value in ground unit given by user.
