The Load Setting in the Add Files -> LAS dialog allows you to specify if the LAS files selected to add to a LIDAR Layer will be placed in the layer in a loaded state or an unloaded state. The Load Files setting will place files in the layer in a loaded state, which means that the point data will be read and displayed in the map. The Load Footprints Only setting will display footprints (i.e., Minimum Bounding Rectangle) in the map.
