About Rotating the Profile Line

The profile line can be rotated about the z axis. Rotating the profile line is useful for keeping the profile line perpendicular to a subject while you step the profile line.

How to Rotate a Profile Line

Left and Right Arrow Keys

1. While the Profile Window is active, press the Left or Right arrow keys on the keyboard to rotate the profile line counter clock-wise or clockwise respectively.

Tip Make sure the Profile Window is the active window in ArcMap™. Click on the toolbar section of the window, not the title bar of the window.
