Profile Window
The Profile Window displays the points that overlap the profile line in a cross section view. The cross section view is oriented with the vertical (z) axis pointing up with the depth of the profile line pointing into the window. The far left side of the profile window matches the start point of the profile line and the far right side of the profile window lines up with the end point of the profile line. To draw a profile line, click the Draw a Profile Line button . Click once in the Map View to define the profile line starting location, click a second time to define the endpoint of the profile line (alternatively you may double click here to set the endpoint and automatically set the width to the previous profile line's width), move the mouse to get the desired width, and finally double click to finish the profile.
The points displayed in the profile window are colored based on legends similar to that of a LIDAR Layer. A display filter is applied to the points allowing you to eliminate points not required for the application. Unlike a LIDAR Layer, a profile window displays all of the points (100% resolution) that intersect the profile line from within the LAS files. The Profile Window can be moved by clicking on the title bar of the window and dragging. This location is saved when you close the application. If you wish to reset your profile and 3D window locations, you press 'Ctrl+R' while the application is opening. Note that a user will receive a performance error if the profile requested contains so many points that it exceeds the allocated memory size.
