Using the Measure Tool

The Measure  tool found on the Map, Profile and Immersive Viewer toolbars, measures a cumulative 3D distance for each segment you place. The distance measured is in the units of the LIDAR data.

How to Measure Distances

1. Select the Measure tool, for example in the Profile Window. You may also use the accelerator key "Ctrl+M" to execute the command.

2. Left-click to start a segment in the measure line.

3. Move the mouse to the end location and left-click to end the segment.

The segment distance will be displayed in the status bar at the bottom of the Window.

4. Press the "Esc" key to cancel or end the measure operation.

Tip Continue to left-click to add additional segments to the measure line. The distance displayed is the cumulative distance of all of the segments in the line.
