📌 Problem
Why are some ribbon tabs missing?
🔍 Root Cause
Possible Reasons for Missing Ribbons in LP360
- Customization Changes: Ribbons may be missing if you or another user has customized the interface and removed certain tabs or commands. LP360 allows users to add, remove, or hide ribbon tabs through the Options → Customize Ribbon Menu. If a ribbon tab does not have a checkmark next to its name, it is hidden and will not be displayed.
- Viewer-Level License: If you are using a viewer-level license, the Simplified Viewer Ribbon is displayed by default, which may not include all ribbon tabs. To access full customization and all ribbons, you need to check out your full license via the License Manager
and restart LP360.
- Reset or UI Issues: Extensive customization or UI conflicts can cause ribbons to become misaligned or disappear. Using the Options → Reset Ribbon/Toolbars feature restores the ribbon tabs to their original layout and content, which can resolve missing ribbons.

Restoring Missing Ribbons in LP360
Step-by-Step Instructions:
- Open LP360 Application
- Launch LP360 on your system.
- Access Ribbon Customization Menu
- Navigate to the Options menu.
- Select Customize Ribbon Menu.
- Show/Hide Ribbon Tabs
- In the customization dialog, check if the ribbon tab you want to restore is listed.
- If the tab has a checkmark next to its name, it is active and displayed. If not, click to activate and display the missing tab.
- Reset Ribbon/Toolbars (if needed)
- If the ribbon tab is not listed or customizations are causing issues, use the Options → Reset Ribbon/Toolbars feature.
- This will restore the ribbon tabs to their original layout and content, resetting toolbar icons and positions to default, and removing any custom tabs or commands added by the user.
- Confirm the reset to restore both ribbon and toolbar settings to factory defaults.
📚 Additional Notes
- Resetting the ribbon/toolbars does not affect your project data or settings.
- If you use the Shift-key startup override, it resets the entire layout—including panes and windows—along with the ribbon/toolbars.
- Canceling the Customize Ribbon dialog without saving may leave certain UI elements in an undefined state until the project is reopened.
