The Auto Toe Extraction tool can be found on the Volume tab. This tool utilizes the same functionality as the Toe Extractor PCT.
If an existing feature layer is not selected for the Area Layer on the Volumes tab, selecting the Auto Toe Extraction tool will open the Create Area Feature Layer dialog. This dialog will auto-populate:
- New Shapefile Path defaults to the open Project Path
- New Feature Layer Name defaults to Area_Layer_1
- Geometry Type defaults to 3-D Polygon
- Coordinate System defaults to open Project's coordinate reference system (CRS).
Once an Active Area Layer is specified on the Volume tab (whether the feature layer was selected before clicking on the tool or if the feature layer was created after clicking the tool), the following pop-up message will appear. Please review the message before moving forward.
Use the pointer to select the highest elevation point of the area of interest (AOI) for extraction. A new feature around this AOI will appear in the Map View and will be added to the Area Layer listed on the Volumes tab.

- Press the Volumetric Workflow Settings
button on the Volume tab.
