Requires an LP360 Geospatial Standard and above, LP360 Drone, or LP360 Land Standard license.
The Draw Area Feature tool can be found on the Volume tab.
If an existing feature layer is not selected for the Area Layer on the Volumes tab, selecting the Draw Area Feature will open the Create Feature Layer dialog. This dialog will auto-populate:
- New Shapefile Path defaults to the open Project Path
- New Feature Layer Name defaults to Area_Layer_1
- Geometry Type defaults to 3-D Polygon
- Coordinate System defaults to open Project's coordinate reference system (CRS).
Once the feature layer is selected for the Active Area Layer, this tool allows users to digitize the area of interest (AOI) or the footprint of the desired feature (ponds, stockpiles, etc.). This functions the same at the Create Feature tool for digitizing features using the Auto-Z Surface Mode in the Map View.
Settings
By default, this tool will only consider Class 0 (Created, never classified), Class 1 (Unclassified), and Class 2 (Ground) as the input for the Conflation task used to estimate the Z values for the new feature. This is the recommended input.
To modify the default settings of this tool, press the Volumetric Workflow Settings button on the Volume tab, select the
Draw Area Features option, then select the Input Points Filter.
