The Define Z tool on the Volume tab of the ribbon allows you to control the elevation reference for Base polygons during volume calculations. Instead of relying solely on point cloud-derived surfaces, you can:
Set Area(s) Z: Set a fixed Z value for the entire polygon, creating a constant elevation reference.
Shift Area(s): Apply a Z offset (shift) to adjust the polygon’s elevation relative to its current position.
Apply Auto-Z to Area(s): Reapply Auto-Z to conflate the polygon back to the LAS data surface if needed.
Important Notes:
These adjustments apply to the entire polygon, not individual vertices.
Individual vertices can still be Z-adjusted manually by using the normal Feature Edit tools such as selecting them and using right-click shortcuts. See Edit Vertices – LP360 for details.
