📌 Problem
The GNSS QC Section Missing from the POSPac QC Trajectory Report generated by the Trajectory Processing
or the trajectory processing option in the Sensor Processing Launcher
.
🧠What is the GNSS QC Section
The GNSS QC section in a POSPac QC report provides critical insights into satellite visibility, PDOP, and solution types. If this section is missing, it may be due to one or more of the following reasons:
âś… Probable Resolutions
1. Missing or Unrecognized Antenna Model
The most common cause is that the antenna model is not present or not recognized in the RINEX file header. POSPac requires this metadata to generate GNSS QC statistics. Ensure the base station RINEX file includes a valid antenna model.
Fix: Verify the antenna model is correctly displayed and recognized by LP360 in the Trajectory Processing wizard.
2. Improper RINEX Conversion
Converting base station data to RINEX format can strip essential metadata like SNR (Signal-to-Noise Ratio). This may result in blank SNR plots and a missing GNSS QC section.
Fix: It is recommended to use native GNSS receiver files supported by LP360, such as T02 files, instead of converting Trimble data to RINEX.
3. GNSS QC Processor Not Triggered
The GNSS QC processor only runs when a base station is successfully imported. If a failure is encountered, it can prevent GNSS QC generation.
4. Data Quality or Configuration Issues
If the GNSS data is too poor or the processing mode bypasses QC generation (e.g., Realtime QC-only), the GNSS QC section may be omitted. Trajectory or calibration issues can also interfere with QC evaluation. Recommended to check the data quality and processing configuration.
5. Software Version or Report Format
Different versions of POSPac may structure reports differently. For example:
- MMS 8.4: Includes detailed GNSS QC statistics.
- MMS 8.8: May omit GNSS QC entirely.
- MMS 9.4: Includes full GNSS QC section with satellite visibility and PDOP.
Fix: Review the POSPac version in the header of the report and upgrade to the latest if you are using a locally installed POSPac desktop.
