Auto-Panning of the Map
Stepping, zooming, or panning the profile can cause the profile to partially or completely fall outside the extent of the map. There are three behaviors that determine how to auto-pan the map as the profile extent changes;
- allow the profile to move off the map
- keep the profile centered in the map
- re-center the profile as it approaches the edge of the map.
The last two settings are very useful to eliminate panning the map as you browse around the LIDAR Layer with a profile. The centering option refreshes the map each time the profile is moved and may not be the most efficient option depending on the contents of the map. Panning the map as the profile nears the edge of the map refreshes the map only when the profile needs to be re-centered and is a much more efficient browsing mechanism for maps with resource intensive contents. The distance criteria used in the edge setting is a percentage of the window size and the default is 10%.
