Displaying LAS File Boundaries
Each LAS file in a LIDAR Layer has an envelope that contains all of the points in the file. The rectangular envelope can be drawn on the screen in order to manage a large collection of LIDAR data without viewing or loading any LAS files. Viewing just the boundaries for the LAS files is a quick way to determine if the files cover the intended project area and to locate individual LAS files for working in small areas.
Each boundary is drawn in a color that represents the state of the file. A black boundary indicates an unloaded LAS file, a red boundary indicates a LAS file opened for read-only, and a green boundary indicates a LAS file is opened for read/write. If a LAS file appears to be missing or not drawn, then the file is invalid or cannot be found, and a red exclamation mark will be displayed by the filename in the LAS Files Contents View.
How to Toggle the LAS File Boundaries
With the LAS files displayed in the map, click the Display Boundaries command on the LP360 toolbar. Each time you click the command, the visibility of the boundaries will toggle on and off. Boundaries are visible when Display Boundaries is selected. The boundaries are hidden when the option is not selected.
