Draping the Profile Line
About Draping the Profile Line
A single draped profile line can be displayed in the profile window. The draped line is the result of overlaying/draping the center of the profile on a TIN surface created from the LIDAR points. The result is a collection of 3D points that can be displayed as a line or exported to external files. If the draped line setting is turned on, the line will always be calculated and drawn each time the profile extent changes. In addition, if the 3D Window is visible and overlaps the same geographic area as the profile, the draped line will display in 3D.
Draping Profiles By Point Source
Profiles can be draped by point source for inspecting flight line overlap areas in LIDAR data sets. The method of creating the draped line is similar to the single draped line option, however a TIN is created for each unique point source number within the profile instead of creating a single TIN. The points for each point source number are used to create each individual TIN that is used to construct multiple draped lines within the profile window. The draped lines are displayed using the colors defined in the point source legend.
