You can restrict the points seen on the map or the 3D window to only those above, below, or between clip planes set within the profile window. This is useful for when you want to see areas only at specific elevations.
How to Set the Clipping Plane
- If you have not already done so, draw a Profile Line
and display the Profile Window in order to set the clipping planes.
- Select the Set Clipping Plane
tool
in the Clipping group of the Map Tab of the ribbon.
- Right click within the Profile Window to check "Use Lower Clip Plane" and/or "Use Upper Clip Plane" as desired.
- Move the clipping panes by clicking on a plane and dragging up or down.
- Use the Enable Clipping Plane in 2D View
and Enable Clipping Plane in the 3D
tools on the Map Tab of the ribbon to view the results of the clip within the map and 3D windows, respectively.
