LAS File Analyst
LAS File Analyst (LFA) has options for setting Analysis tests and making Repairs to LAS files. These are set through the LAS File Analyst Options dialog. The boxes checked in these tabs will determine which Analysis tests are run and which repairs are made to LAS files when the 'Scan'
'Analyze'
, 'Repair'
, and 'Edit'
buttons are clicked in the main LFA dialog. The LAS and Edit tabs also have 'Select/Unselect All'
'Invert Selection'
and 'Auto-Select Actions'
buttons for easier manipulation of the checkboxes. These tests are based on ASPRS specifications for items contained in the public header block of LAS 1.4 files.
Note: If you hover over a checkbox on any tab, there will be a helpful tooltip describing what each Analysis test is for, and what each Repair and Edit Action does.
'Scan' Button
The 'Scan' button performs a full-file scan, reading all the points in the file and displaying the actual content for the rows that are selected. This is useful when a more thorough analysis beyond merely looking at the file header is required. The Full File Scan columns are highlighted in blue in LFA, and the default LAS header columns are plain white (see below).
Note: Scan Column values are persisted between sessions on a per-file basis. Once Scan columns are populated, they will reload automatically when the LFA dialog is invoked. If the "Scan" file is out of date, then a warning (yellow triangle) will be displayed and 'Scan' will need to be run again.
