LAS File Analyst
About LAS File Analyst
LAS File Analyst (LFA) provides the user the user with tools for analyzing LAS files for compliance with industry standard American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ASPRS) specifications and an associated set of tools for repairing and editing those that are defective. LFA is invoked by right clicking on a LAS layer in the TOC and selecting it from the menu or by clicking the button on the LP360 Toolbar. The dialog displays all of the file header metadata available for the LAS files on the layer in sortable columns. This data is immediately accessible upon adding LAS data to a project. There are Window Centering and Fitting tools
for LAS Files, as well as copying rows to the clipboard , and a Move/Copy button for copying certain files to a target folder. The Move/Copy button
is helpful when a user wants to "quarantine" certain files by excluding them from the project. The LFA dialog is non-modal, so it may remain displayed even while performing unrelated actions in LP360.
In addition, LFA has three-way synchronization between the TOC LAS files tab, rows (files) selected in the LFA dialog itself, and LAS file boundaries selected in the map view.
Note: LAS File Analyst is licensed at two levels - Basic for Scan and Analyze and Standard for Repair actions. |

'Show/Hide...' Buttons
The Show/Hide buttons control which columns the user sees in LFA. The Show/Hide LAS File Header columns button controls the header file columns. These are commonly needed, so this button is enabled by default. The Full Scan Info column button
controls the columns for a full LAS file scan. This button adds many more (full file) columns, which are populated for the selected files upon clicking the 'Scan' button
. The Show/Hide Analyze Test columns button

Icon Wide: Widens columns so as to show the column name in addition to the Pass/Fail/Warning icons.
