LP360 Known Limitations and Issues in ArcGIS™
The following are known limitations, issues, or defects of LP360 within the ArcGIS™ environment.
-
The color ramp in the Table of Contents (TOC) for an elevation legend is partially drawn.
-
Using Shift + F1 does not work in the Profile Window. Activating another window outside of ArcMap will restore the non-responsive application.
-
The What's This ? button does not work on the Active LIDAR Layer, Active Control Point Layer, Destination Classification, Stored Filters, and Conflation Tasks commands. Just click the label or combo box and press F1 to open the help for the command.
-
Points from a LIDAR Layer in geographic coordinates cannot be used in the profile or viewer windows. You also cannot TIN or contour on the fly with geographic files.
-
When you want to print or export from a page layout, make sure the page is fit to the window first when a LIDAR Layer appears in the map. Otherwise parts of the layer will not export or print.
-
LAS files may not appear in file dialogs when trying to create or add a layer. This is caused by conflicts between file filters in ArcGIS. For example, if LAS Reader is installed, LAS files will be shown using the LAS Reader object, not the LP360 LAS file object. Other conflicts can arise if a File Type has been defined in ArcCatalog™ using the LAS file extension. Either uninstall LAS Reader, or remove the File Type (Tools->Options->File Types tab) to fix the problem.

Certain types of graphics cards (generally NDIVIA Quadro FX Series) in ArcGIS 9.2 will cause ArcMap to either crash (when trying to use the profile or viewer windows) or not open after installing LP360. GeoCue suggests the following steps to resolve the situation:
-
-
For crashing of ArcMap:
-
-
Double-click the reg file called "NonArcMapViewingDialogs.reg" in the Program Files (x86)/QCoherent/LP360 32-bit/bin folder to install information in the LP360 registry section. This will cause the profile and viewer windows to be undockable in ArcMap. Restart ArcMap.
-
If this does not resolve the issue, check for graphics driver updates and update the driver if a newer version exists.
-
If the previous two steps fail to resolve the issue, contact GeoCue at support@lp360.com.
-
-
ArcMap quietly goes away
-
-
Check for graphics driver updates, and update the driver if a newer version exists.
-
If updating the drivers did not resolve the issue, contact GeoCue at support@lp360.com.

When using floating licenses, licenses may not get checked back in properly. This behavior occurs mostly when ArcGIS crashes, the process has been terminated, or even when closing ArcGIS properly. The various reasons for this behavior is not understood. If floating licenses are orphaned, you may not be able to get a license upon re-entering ArcGIS because all of the seats are occupied. Orphaned floating licenses can be removed from the License Server using the License Administrator (License Server tab, then Remove User button. The Remove User button will only be visible when launching the License Administrator from the server machine.
