Creating a Coordinate System

For local or custom coordinate systems, selecting an existing spatial reference from a file may not be adequate. New coordinate systems can be created by inputting the necessary parameters to build the coordinate system.

How to Create Coordinate Systems

1. Click the "New" button. A popup with Projected and Geographic buttons will display.

2. Select the "Geographic" button. The New Geographic Coordinate System dialog will open.

3. Input the necessary parameters for the coordinate system and click OK.

Projected Coordinate System

1. Click the "New" button. A popup with Projected and Geographic buttons will display.

2. Select the "Projected" button. The New Projected Coordinate System dialog will open.

3. Input the necessary parameters for the coordinate system and click OK.
