To retrieve the DJI RTK-2 base station data, you will need to connect the DRTK-2 to your workstation with a USB-C cable. The device should be recognized as a USB drive. If it is not recognizing you may need a firmware update. Download DJI Assistant for Matrice from DJI website and use it to update to the latest firmware. When the DRTK-2 connects navigate to /log/rtcmraw/ examine the timestamp and retrieve the .DAT files that are associated with your flight and copy them to your workstation.
The .DAT file then need to be converted to RINEX format for post-processing. The conversion can be completed with many software suites but RTKLib is free and easy to use. Browse to this link, click the Code button, and then select Download Zip. Extract the contents of the zip file, and then open the contents of the extracted folder and find rtkconv.exe and launch it.
- Launch rtkconv.exe
- In the input field for RTCM, RCV RAW or RINEX OBS click the Ellipsis (…) and locate a
.DAT file you wish to process. - In the Format field select RTCM 3.
- In the output fields select the checkbox for the .obs and the .nav files the others can be
unchecked. - Click the Options button below. Any RINEX version should work. Ensure that the all the
checkboxes for Satellite Systems, Observation Types, and GNSS Signals are checked
then click OK. - Click the Convert button. Ensure the date is correct, the time field can be any value
before the base station time but putting 00:00:00 will also work. *Do not use the File
Time* button it will assume the local time zone not UTC time which may clip your
observation time. Click OK. - Go to the OPUS website https://geodesy.noaa.gov/OPUS/
- Click Choose File and locate the .obs file converted using rtkconv.exe
- The antenna field can be left empty
- For antenna height enter 1.8
- Enter your e-mail address
- Click Upload to Rapid-Static for observations less than two hours
- Or click Upload to Static for observation over two hours.
- If you receive an immediate error, you may have an improperly converted observation
file
Check your e-mail in a few minutes for an OPUS solution. Depending on the time since your
observation and the location it could take many hours to obtain a solution if you get a failed email message try every hour until you get a result. Once you obtain a solution copy and paste
the e-mail into a text file and save it. Review the results of your solution to confirm that it is an
acceptable error range for your application.
