What Are LP360 Points?
LP360 Points are a form of digital currency used within the LP360 ecosystem—particularly in LP360 Online—for processing geospatial data. They are consumed when using cloud-based services such as:
- Applanix SmartBase (VRS) or Trimble PP-RTX for post-processing sensor trajectories.
- Cloud-based Agisoft Ortho Mapping workflows.
- Subscription-based processing such as AI Ground Classification and DJI Cloud Processing.
These points are managed through the LP360 Portal and are tied to your organization’s account. Admins can invite users and manage access to points, and additional points can be purchased as needed. Notably, user purchased LP360 Points do not expire but are non-refundable. LP360 Points allocated monthly by subscription licenses expire each month and do not rollover.
When Would You Need LP360 Points?
LP360 Points are required when using certain cloud-based workflows in LP360. These workflows perform processing in LP360 Cloud rather than entirely on the local machine.
-
Cloud-Based GNSS Post-Processing
If you're using SmartBase or PP-RTX instead of a single local base station, LP360 Points are consumed per kinematic minute of the rover.

Cloud Ortho Mapping
When using LP360 Drone+Cloud Photo 3000 or LP360 Drone+Photogrammetry with Agisoft licenses and performing Agisoft Ortho Mapping processing in the Cloud, LP360 Points are consumed per photo processed.

DJI Cloud Batch Processing
When using the LP360 Drone+DJI L1/L2 Cloud Batch Processing Cloud add-on to process raw DJI Zenmuse L1 and L2 LiDAR data directly in LP360 Cloud, bypassing the need for DJI Terra, LP360 Points are consumed per successful flight-processing run.

AI Classification – Cloud Workflows
LP360 Points are consumed based on the data volume per job when running AI classification workflows as cloud jobs, including: - 🆕 3D Photo Engine – Cloud Execution
LP360 Points are consumed when the 3D Photo Engine is executed as a cloud-based job. Desktop-based 3D Photo Engine processing does not consume points.

Cloud Data Storage
Storage of data in your LP360 Cloud account for the purpose of data storage, processing, streaming, and sharing that exceeds the allowable quota by the sum of your organization's active Cloud Collaborate licenses, currently 200GB per license, will consume LP360 Points monthly based upon the average excess storage used that month.
When Are LP360 Points Allocated?
-
Upon Purchase of Subscription or Points
LP360 Points are typically allocated at the time of purchase—either as part of a subscription package or when buying additional points through the LP360 Portal. After purchase, the designated account administrator receives an invitation email to set up access to LP360 Online, where points and licenses are managed. -
When a New User Is Invited to LP360 Online
Once an admin adds a new user to the LP360 Portal, that user receives an invitation email. After confirming their email and setting up a password, they gain access to the shared pool of LP360 Points. This process does not allocate new points but grants access to existing ones. -
Automatically with Certain License Types
For subscription-based entitlements—like Cloud Photo 3000, DJI Cloud Batch Processing—which include a monthly quota of processing (e.g., 3000 photos or 20 flights), points for the quota are allocated on the monthly anniversary of the license and expire each month. In other words, point allocations and included usage are defined at the time of purchase and renew based on the user’s subscription term. They do not rollover but are also not restricted on how they are used. Additional processing beyond that quota requires the purchase of additional LP360 Points in the LP360 Portal.
Difference between Perpetual and Expiring Points
-
Perpetual Points
- These points do not have an expiration date and can be used indefinitely.
- They are typically associated with packages of points purchased by users.
-
Credits that Expire:
- These points have a set expiration date and must be used within a specific timeframe.
- They are often linked to subscription licenses, which require periodic renewal to maintain access.
Expiring points are always used before perpetual points.
How Points Are Consumed
LP360 Points are only consumed by the cloud-based workflows explicitly listed in this article.
-
Only listed workflows consume points.
Desktop processing tools and workflows not explicitly identified as point‑consuming do not consume LP360 Points. -
Failed cloud jobs do not consume points.
If a cloud processing job fails before completion, no points are deducted. -
Each successful submission consumes points.
Re-running or re-submitting a job—including processing the same dataset multiple times—will consume points for each successful run.
