About the Run by Feature Layer Command
The Run by Feature Layer command executes a task using a polygon layer that constrains the area that a task executes to the individual polygon features in the polygon layer. Using a polygon layer is useful for restricting the areas that a task will execute on.
When possible, the Run by Feature Layer command will default to the layer with selected features. Once you select the vector layer to run the active task on, the geometry types supported by the active task (macro) will be used to filter the available layers. All geometries found on the layer will be processed by the active task. The task runs on each geometry independently.
