Point Tasks Tab

The Point Tasks tab of the ribbon comprises the tools to configure and execute a Point Cloud Task (PCT) on the active LIDAR Layer. On the tab there are tools to execute tasks over drawn geometry such as polygons, predefined cursor shapes called stamps, for selected features or graphics, and for an entire project.

Executing point cloud tasks with any of the tools on the Point Tasks tab requires that appropriate licensing exist for the point cloud task (PCT) to execute.

PCT Selection Overview

Filtering

Filter By – This dropdown allows you to select:

• None - Shows the entire instance list (effectively the “old” way of managing PCTs)
• Group – Filter by groups
• Type – Filter by PCT type (template)

Filter - Allows you to filter the list based on the "Filter By" selection. Actions shown in Table below.

Favorites

Favorites can be assigned via the Favorites tab of the PCT Manager.

They appear on the PCT tab as a row of buttons (labeled 1-8) if they have been assigned. Pressing a favorites button sets the Task Selection to the task assigned to the button. Hovering over a button will show the assigned task name and description via a tool tip.

Favorite PCTs now appear at the top of the Active PCT selection dropdown with highlighted backgrounds.

Active Point Cloud Task Selector

The Active Point Cloud Task Selector is a dropdown list of available tasks, possibly filtered, which have been configured on the machine.  The Task showing in this selector is the task that will be executed when you execute a PCT via one of the execution methods.  You select a PCT by either using this dropdown or by pressing a Favorite button. Add, remove, import, export and manage your Point Cloud Tasks using the PCT Manager .

Digitizing Notes:

• While digitizing Point Cloud Task geometry, you can use the mouse wheel to zoom in and out. 
• The middle mouse button may also be used to "quick-pan" the map while digitizing. 
• A right-click will undo the last clicked vertex when digitizing a PCT line or polygon geometry.
