The ASCII Preview window at the bottom of the ASCII Import Wizard dialog displays a sample of how the text files will be interpreted in the conversion to LAS files. The preview parses the text files and applies the current settings specified from the ASCII Import Wizard. The navigation buttons allow you to step through a preview of each text file set to import so that you can see the effect of the import settings on all the files queued to import.
 

Navigating the Text Files in the Preview Window

1. To see the ASCII file(s) previewed in the Preview Window, you must have at least selected one or more ASCII files to import, as described in Step 1: Selecting ASCII Files to Import.

   Note  Once the ASCII files have been selected for import, the Preview Window displays the preview, with all settings made in the ASCII Import Wizard applied, on every page through the last page of the import process.

2. To step through the ASCII files' display one by one, click the navigation buttons to display the first, previous, next, or last ASCII files.

   • Go to Previous File

   • Go to Next File

   • Go to Last File
