LP360 2015.1 Release Notes
New Features
Live View
LP360's Live View dialog is a brand new point filter tool designed to make visualizing points based off of their attributes much easier to perform, as well as provide live responses to changes. This means that as soon as you change an attribute within the Live View dialog, the associated Map, Profile, 3D, and Preview Window displays are simultaneously updated. Also in the Live View dialog are commands for selecting, creating, and modifying default and custom filters.
Within Live View, you may select the renderer to apply your changes to, adjust the number of classes, change the point size, auto-select active LAS Layer classes, and change the theme of the Live View dialog. The Live View dialog currently incorporates classification, returns, and flag filters and will eventually replace the standard point filters found on the Properties dialogs.
Draw Shape Features Point Cloud Task
LP360 allows you to draw shape features for creating shapefiles using its new Draw Shape Feature Point Cloud Task. The output shapefiles may overwrite or append to existing shapefiles and then be added into the map.
Ground Cleanup Filter Point Cloud Task
LP360 has added an interactive ground cleanup tool with the Ground Cleanup Filter Point Cloud Task. This may be used to clean up areas where the ground classification has left unclassified patches. It may also be used for automatic ground extraction in localized areas.
Attribute Editor Point Cloud Task
LP360's new Attribute Editor Point Cloud Task allows you to modify, add, delete, and prompt for input values for attributes associated with a shape file. This will allow other Point Cloud Tasks to chain with this task when setting or modifying the attribute values.
Coordinate System Utility
The new Coordinate System Utility in LP360 allows you define horizontal and vertical coordinate systems and output PRJ files. This allows LP360 to insert the correct WKT or EPSG information in the LAS header. This utility can be accessed through the LP360 Export Wizard within ArcMap. It can additionally be accessed through the 'File' drop-down menu in LP360 for Windows®.
Planar Statistics Point Cloud Task
LP360's new Planar Statistics Point Cloud Task defines an area's best fit plane and computes the quality of fit values. These planar extraction statistics are then stored as attributes in a shape file. This is used primarily as a quality control and diagnostic tool.
Toe Extractor Point Cloud Task
LP360 now has a powerful new tool that will automatically create polygonal toes for volumetric computations of clean stockpiles. Optionally, it can also automatically classify overhead structures that are well separated from the pile such as conveyors.
The Attribute Editor
LP360 for Windows has a new Attribute Editor Dialog that allows you to easily edit feature attribute fields. The Attribute Editor toolbar contains commands to synchronize the attributes from the feature file and refresh the map view, to center the selected feature in map, to fit the selected features in the map, and to copy feature rows into the clipboard. Selecting features within the open dialog will select the same features within the map view and vice versa. Features selected in the list will also be shown in the Identify tab of the Table of Contents, allowing you to examine geometry information. The attribute editor may be accessed through the right-click menu when right-clicking on a feature within the Table of Contents.
Schema Editor
A Schema Editor Dialog is now available in LP360 for Windows. This dialog allows you to add, delete, and modify schema fields. When creating new fields, you may set the name, data type (text, integer, double, date, boolean), and field properties such as the text length and number of decimal spaces. The Schema Editor also allows you to edit the names and some field properties of existing schema fields. You can also change the order of the fields by dragging and dropping selected rows. The attribute editor may be accessed through the right-click menu when right-clicking on a feature within the Table of Contents.
Feature Edit Toolbar
LP360 for Windows now has a new Feature Edit toolbar which provides Select and Delete capabilities. This toolbar allows you to select features by clicking on them, dragging a box over them, and by drawing a polygon over them. Selected features may be deleted using the Delete Selected Features command. The toolbar can be turned on from the 'View' drop-down menu.

On the Add Files dialog, the append option now appends to the topmost compatible layer in the TOC.
On Project Settings dialog, a button has been added that re-enables all the application warnings that have been disabled with "Do not show dialog again".
On the Profile View, the target class for the Classify Above/Below commands is remembered and the class is set each time the user selects on of these commands.
