Defect Fixes

  • Fixed an issue that caused LP360 to sometimes crash when accessing data

LP360 2018.1 Release Notes

 

New Features

  • New License Manager

The new license manager allows the user to monitor their license pool and check-out floating and roaming licenses.

  • Buffer Geometry Command

The Buffer Geometry command on the Feature Edit toolbar allows the user to create buffer areas around features (points, lines, and polygons). The user may set the buffer distance, end types (flat or rounded), and points per circle, which are found in Feature Edit Options on the Geometry tab. The buffer command also supports multi-part geometries.

 

  • 'Just-In-Time' Prompt Dialog

This is a setting on the Geometry tab of the Feature Edit Options dialog. Turning this global setting will pop up a mini dialog containing the settings for the chosen feature edit tool whenever the user clicks the corresponding button on the Feature Edit toolbar. This allows the user to quickly and conveniently adjust tool settings.

 

  • New Web Mapping (Tile) Service (WMS) Interface

The Add WMS Layer tool invokes a new, intuitive dialog which adds a layer to the Table of Contents (TOC) of the type chosen. The user may add multiple WMS layers to the TOC.

      

 

  • LAS File Analyst

A new set of tools called LAS File Analyst (LFA), available in LP360 Standalone, provides the user with a full capability LAS file analysis and repair method. LAS File Analyst is invoked by right clicking on a LAS layer in the TOC and selecting it from the menu or from the LP360 Toolbar button . Users select from a multitude of Analysis Tests and/or Repair Actions from the Options dialog based on industry standard LAS file specifications from the American Society of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ASPRS), then click the appropriate button on the main dialog to execute. LFA is licensed at two levels: Basic for 'Scan' and 'Analyze' and Standard for Repair actions.

 

 

  • 'Export LAS SRS Files...' command

A new Table of Contents (TOC) right-click command called 'Export LAS SRS Files...' allows the user to export a single ".SRS" file per LAS file on the layer which will be saved in the same location as the LAS file(s). A .SRS file operates the same way as a .PRJ file.

      

 

  • Color-fill Polygons

Users may now color-fill polygon features by right-clicking the feature in the TOC and clicking 'Properties...'.

       

 

  • Profile View Area Calculation Tool

The Profile Area tool allows the user to drag a straight line by clicking in the Profile View Window to have the total area in Square Map Units above the line and below the line reported.

 

 

  • Added support for .DWG files

.DWG files are the native format for most popular CAD (Computer-Aided Design) packages (such as AutoCAD) used for storing design data and metadata. Support for importing .DWG files to a project has been added to the 'Features' tab of the Add Files dialog for LP360 Standalone (Standard license level required).

  • 'Display as Monochromatic' Legend Type

This new display legend type (Map, Profile, and 3D Views) allows the user to display point clouds as one continuous shade of color. It is particularly useful for displaying hillshades in TIN mode. Properties for Mono/Hillshade tools are found in the LAS Layer Properties Symbology tab, as well as the Properties dialog of the 3D and Profile viewers.

  

  • LAZ File Support

LP360 now supports the LAZ file format. LAZ can  be imported into a project (they will be converted to LAS) and LAS files can be exported as LAZ files.

  • Cursor Cross-Hair Toggle in Profile View

The new Cursor Cross-hair Toggle is a horizontal and vertical guideline that tracks the active cursor in the profile window and can be toggled on and off.

 

Modifications to Existing Features

  • The Feature Edit Options dialog 'Confirm' tab has a checkbox to control Buffer Geometry confirmation dialogs.
  • The Project Settings dialog is now tabbed into 'Project', 'Global', 'Diagnostics', and EXP.
  • Modified Control Points Reports to contain Horizontal and Vertical Units (LP360 Standalone only). These are derived from the Control Points layer.
  • The Feature Layer's PRJ file is created/updated automatically when a SRS is selected and applied on the Feature Layer Properties' SRS tab.
  • Changed the order of bands on 'Intensity from RGB' PCT to be Red, Green, Blue (RGB).
  • In the Control Points report, changed "Error Range:" to (Min,Max), added "ASPRS" to "Accuracy Class" on the Statistical Summary, and removed warning from the exported report.
  • Moved the 'Toggle Hillshading' button from the QA/QC toolbar to the LP360 toolbar (Standalone and LP360 for ArcGIS).
  • Removed 'Image Layer' and 'Average Pixel Size' from the Control Points report, because it is no longer used in computing the ASPRS Accuracy Class values.
  • Improving Control Points, updated the Horizontal Accuracy Classes based on the newest published ASPRS-specified standards.
  • On the Add Files dialog, always show the Project ID GUID in uppercase.
  • Refresh Map View is now updated after each block is processed when running a Point Cloud Task.
  • DHHN92 German Vertical datum was added.

 

Defect Fixes

  • Fixed a bug where the Volumetric PCT was not converting values to the correct output unit when set as Yards. (6283)
  • Fixed a bug where both the Run by Feature Layer dialog and the I/O Manager were filtering out M-value enabled shapefiles from the layer dropdown menu. (6286)
  • Fixed a bug where clicking Select All Vertices from the right-click map menu with nothing selected wile in Edit Vertices mode would crash LP360. (6305)
  • Fixed a bug where running a volumetrics analysis with output units in Yards gave no warning when the layer and project SRS were unknown, and map units were undefined. (6304)
  • Fixed a bug causing the Toe Extractor PCT to crash with certain parameters, a Maximum Size of 40,000 and a Grid Size of 0.5. (6310)
  • Fixed a bug where LP360 could not open shapefiles produced in AgiSoft PhotoScan due to the file bounds being invalid. Bounds are now automatically recomputed and validated. (6319)
  • Fixed a bug causing a crash in Japanese LP360 when adding raster files to a project. (6332)
  • Fixed a bug where a command line COM exception was occurring in LPRunPCT.exe. (6447)
  • Fixed a bug in LDExports command line executable where a failure was occurring during export due an error in the file extents. (6470)
  • Fixed a bug where the Profile View graticules display was incorrect based on what was showing in the coordinate (XYZ) readout. (6471)
  • Fixed a bug where creating a New Project, Adding Files, Exiting the Project, and clicking 'Yes' to Save the project resulted in the Project not being added to the recent projects list. (6574)
