Toggling the Out Area State
About Out Areas
An "Out Area" is a closed
breakline that excludes the interior area within the polygon from the surface. On the screen, out areas appear as "holes" in the surface. If a DEM was exported using out areas, the areas within the closed breaklines would be assigned no data values.
Example of using out areas
