The licensing system in LP360 v2018.1 and later allows users to move their own node-locked licenses from one machine to another, after a seven day lock period.
For LP360 2018.1 and later:
- Start LP360 on the machine where you wish to deactivate the node-locked license.
- Open the License Manager (File -> License Manager)
- Select "Deactivate Node-locked License". Note that you may not deactivate a node-locked license for a minimum of seven days from when it was activated on the machine.
- Install LP360 on the new hardware by downloading the latest version from the LP360 Installers page.
- Copy any of the settings from your current machine to your new machine that you wish to transfer between machines. These are found in your user's %AppData%\LP360 folder. Not copying one will result in LP360 using the defaults from the new installation.
- filters.xml - The default, plus any of user configured Live View display and symbology filters.
- logsettings.xml - Settings for LP360 diagnostics logging for debugging.
- LPSystemSettings.xml – Global Settings.
- pctasks.xml - The default, plus any of user configured Point Cloud Tasks.
- railparamsets.xml - Rail Extraction Parameter sets.wmscatalog.xml - The standard WMS catalogue, plus any custom added ones.
- These are found in your user’s %ProgramData%\LP360 folder. Not copying one will result in LP360 using the defaults from the new installation.
- ArchiveFolders.json - The list of TrueView Archives. If these are local to the machine, it may not make sense to copy this one to the new machine unless you setup similar folders on it.
- PMProjects.json - The list of LP360 projects. If these are local to the machine, it may not make sense to copy this one to the new machine unless you also copy the projects.
- QAQCIssues.json - The customized QAQC issues.
- \Jobs\ - The various jobs and status for the jobs found in Job Manager.
- Start LP360
- The LP360 License Manager will appear.
- Enter your License String as supplied to the LP360 administrative contact on your account into the License String box and click set. If you do not have your License String please contact us at support@lp360.com.
Note: It is necessary to enable outbound communications to ls24.rlmcloud.com [3.19.97.206], ls41.rlmcloud.com [13.52.168.75], or ls60.rlmcloud.com [44.218.196.186], as specified in your License String, on ports 5053 and Company specific port# on any firewalls for the product to communicate with the hosted license server. These ports are normally open by default on most firewalls.
- The left side, Available Licenses, will show your available license types, including the LP360 Viewer Floating licenses.
- Select your desired license level from the dropdown list and select “Activate Node-Locked” to enable a node-locked LP360 license on that machine for the desired timeframe. Note: Node-locked licenses cannot be deactivated for a minimum of seven days from activation.
- Select Close to close the LP360 License Manager and open LP360 at the desired license level.
- You can reopen the LP360 License Manager at any time from within LP360 (File -> License Manager) to change license levels like one used to do in the “License” menu.

- Start LP360
- The new LP360 License Manager (replaces the former LP360 License Administrator and does not require any administrative rights) will appear.
- Enter your License String as supplied to the LP360 administrative contact on your account into the License String box and click set. If you do not have your License String, please contact us at support@lp360.com.
