📌 Problem
In LP360 Land, while attempting to process TrueView GO SLAM data with High Precision Colorization, the resulting point cloud does not cover the entire area collected. It is usually connected to forest areas.
When comparing the result to the area covered, there is a missmatch.
🔍 Root Cause
This problem happens when collecting data in forest, areas with weak texture or severe occlusion.
The issue is caused by errors in the triangulation process due to an insufficient number of tie points.
High-precision colorization relies on tie points generated during aerial triangulation to identify the corresponding images used to color the point cloud.
As a result, the coverage of the aerial triangulation tie points may be smaller than the actual extent of the point cloud, which can lead to unsatisfactory colorization results.
âś… Probable Resolutions
Probable Resolution #1:
A resolution is to process the data in SLAM Processing with Fast Colorization or No Colorization, as these modes generate the point cloud without relying on tie points for colorization.
