In this article, we will explain step by step how to process TrueView 540 and/or TrueView 539 datasets using LP360 Drone. The idea of the article is to serve as a quick user guide on processing. This article will not explain in detail each of the settings available in each step or tool. Those details can be found either in the applicable articles in the Tools & Features section or in the LP360 Drone User Guide.
Prerequisites
Before starting with the workflow, the user will need to have LP360 v2024.2 or newer and the sensor extension. You will be prompted to download and install the sensor extension the first time that you try to use the TV540 Data Copy tool or try to import a TV540 or TV539 dataset.
TV540 Data Copy
Use the TV540 Data Copy tool to export raw data from the TV540 sensor to your computer. The first time you try to use it or if an update is available, LP360 will ask to install the Sensor Extension. Once installed, you can use the TV540 Data Copy
tool.
Note: The data Copy Tool is not required for the TV539.
LP360 Working Directory
Make sure to set the LP360 Working Directory before starting the workflow, by navigating to Project Settings -> Global -> LP360 Working Directory -> select a folder in your local hard drive.
Figure 1: Project Settings
The working directory is a folder that LP360 will use during the TV540/539 processing to create temporary files that will be deleted after the processing is completed.
It is recommended to have at least 200GBs of space in the folder’s hard drive selected. It is also advised to select the folder in your local hard drive since working from a remote hard drive or a server may crash/delay the processing.
TV540 & TV539 Processing Workflow
The processing workflow for the TrueView 540 and TrueView 539 sensors follow the same general steps as other TrueView payloads. Further details are in the LP360 Drone Users Guide and TrueView Multi-Cycle Processing. These are the recommended steps:
-
Import Cycle
- Create Flight Lines
-
Sensor Processing Launcher
Recommended for batch processing, includes Trajectory Processing and Geocoding. - Optional: Post Processing
Recommended in case the user wants to edit the flight lines, Photo or LiDAR processing settings. It is faster than repeating the Geocoding. -
Strip Align
-
Control Points & Debias
- Smoothing
- Ground Classification:
