Introduction
In this article, we will explain how to generate a TrueView GO (TVGO) point cloud in LP360. It is also useful to complement this article with the LP360 Land User guide and how to process the TVGO in LP360.
Pre-requisites
Before creating a point cloud for the TVGO, it is needed to import the raw cycle into LP360. This step is explained at:
- Raw Mission Import Wizard and Input TVGO cycles
- Import Advanced Settings
- Output TrueView project & Coordinate Reference System and Epoch
Point cloud generation
Once a cycle has been imported to LP360, the TVGO point cloud generation job will be automatically launched in the job manager. The job type for the TVGO Point Cloud generation is TGO.
- To monitor the job status --> Open the Job Manager
- Once the job is completed, Press "Complete job" in the job manager.
- The point cloud will be displayed in the Map view
Post-processing and point cloud filtering
Once the initial point cloud is created, the next step is to filter it. That is done with the Post Processing tool.
The settings recommended for the TVGO are:
- No clip angle (use the 360° of the sensor)
- Clip range: 0 to 20 (to filter any point further than 20 meters)
- Update Photo EXIF Tags with True Pose® Information
What is the difference between the point cloud directly from the TGO in Job Manager and the post-processing?
Both point clouds come from the same raw data, however, one has all the data captured from the sensor (TVGO point cloud) and the other is filtered by the defined "flight lines" and filters of the "Post Processing" tool.
In the following example, it is possible to see how the clip range filter has removed long-range points captured by the sensor. Recall that the TVGO has a range of up to 120 meters.
