There is a canned response in JitBit for the following items to assist with Applanix POSPac SLU Troubleshooting:
A current screenshot of the Applanix Software License Utility (SLU) from on the server machine. It should display, "Found license manager running on localhost", and display the Serial Number, EID, and locking codes.
Is there a lservrc file in “C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\SafeNet Sentinel\Sentinel RMS License Manager\WinNT"? If so, get it to review contents.
Review the "log.txt" file from “C:\Program Files (x86)\Applanix\SoftwareLicenseUtility”.
Try restarting the Sentinel RMS license manager service and check if there are any changes to the SLU dialogue:
- Close Software License Utility Window
- Open Services from Start > All Programs > Windows Administrative Tools > Services (or search "Services" from Start)
- Select "Services (Local)" from the left pane, then highlight "Sentinel RMS License Manager" from the list of services.
- Click "Restart" from the near-left pane (if not available, click "Start").
- Open the Applanix Software License Utility
The POSPac EID changes with each license version upgrade so it will change over time and the old EID will give an “Activation is not allowed for this entitlement” error if you try to use it.
"All activations have been exhausted from this entitlement" indicates there is a current activation for that EID. Deactivate the license so it can available for use again.
Rebuilt machine lost license
Please ask the client to specify the disk serial numbers for the machine. The disk serial numbers are available from command line on the machine (start cmd.exe with administrator privileges), enter the following command:
wmic path win32_physicalmedia get Tag, SerialNumber
